My sister and I had given our dad a gift certificate a couple Christmases ago for a canoe rental. He used it July 19th. Even though the temperature for the day was quite hot (high of 35°C and a lot of humidity), being on the river was really pleasant. There was a slight breeze and the temperature seemed to drop about 10 degrees.
We paddled from Camp Assiniboia to Headingley. The first part of the trip was very winding but the current was quick so we didn’t always have to paddle hard. It was interesting to see buildings along the river from a different side and to see how close some were built to the river’s edge.
